On Wednesday, November 6, Lieutenant Colonel Ferdous Ahmed announced at a press conference with the Army's 34th Construction Brigade that following an incident the previous night, authorities sealed off over a thousand businesses and ongoing operations are in place to apprehend the attackers.
He further explained that the situation escalated when they attempted to rescue a shop owner who had been detained due to a social media post related to the ISKCON organization, which represents Hindu beliefs. During the rescue attempt, other business owners and local residents attacked the joint forces with acids and various means.
